On Tuesday, December 3rd, at 5:00 PM, the inauguration of the exhibition “Women of Mathematics from Around the World” took place. The event, reserved for first-year students of the Mathematical Engineering degree program, was held in the glass hall of Building 13 at the Politecnico di Milano and was organized by the Department of Mathematics in collaboration with the Equal Opportunities Service.

After a brief introduction, speeches were delivered by the Head of the Department of Mathematics, Prof. Irene Sabadini, the Psychologist from the Equal Opportunities Service, Dr. Daria Coraini, and two Mathematical Engineers, Dr. Elena Giarratano and Dr. Michela Frigeri, who graduated from the Politecnico.

Finally, an aperitif was offered to the participants, during which they had the opportunity to view the exhibition, interact and exchange ideas with mathematical engineers working in industry and research, and engage with professors from the Department of Mathematics.
