Meeting with the Mathematical Engineering students
On Thursday, December 4, 2025, the "Meeting with the Students of Mathematical Engineering"
event took place, organized by the Department of Mathematics in collaboration with the
Equal Opportunities Service. The initiative provided a valuable opportunity for
dialogue, reflection, and discussion on the role of women in mathematics and STEM careers.

The meeting opened with a greeting from the Director of the Department, Professor
Irene Sabadini, followed by a presentation by Dr. Daria Coraini, psychologist with
the Equal Opportunities Service (PoliPSI). Their contributions offered significant
insights into the university curriculum and inclusion issues, encouraging discussion
of the participants' expectations, challenges, and personal perspectives.

One of the most popular moments of the evening was the theatrical reading of the play "Emmy Se Ne Infischia," written by Professor Annalisa Panati (University of Toulon) and performed by Monica Conti, Stefania Ferroni, and a student. The work, dedicated to the life and scientific legacy of Emmy Noether, a central figure in the history of modern mathematics, offered an opportunity to reflect on the role of women in scientific disciplines.
The evening concluded with an informal networking session and cocktail.
