NUMERICAL MODELING FOR PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS AND APPLICATIONS
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

The group brings together scientific and cultural skills concerning numerical mathematics. It deals with the development, theoretical analysis, and optimal implementation, also on high-performance computing architectures, of numerical methods, with particular reference to emerging differential models in the engineering, physics, life and earth sciences, as well as numerical models related to data science, artificial intelligence and the study of complex systems.

The research activity takes place mainly within the Modeling and Scientific Calculation laboratory MOX. It takes the form, in addition to publishing articles in prestigious journals, in developing numerical codes made available to the scientific community. Group members also conduct research in collaboration with companies, technology transfer, and public engagement.
