Raffaella CARBONE: Hypercontractivity for a Quantum Ornstein-Uhlenbeck Semigroup

 

Abstract. We prove hypercontractivity for a quantum Ornstein-Uhlenbeck semigroup on the entire algebra B(h) of bounded operators on a separable Hilbert space h. We exploit the particular structure of the spectrum together with hypercontractivity of the corresponding birth and death process and a proper decomposition of the domain. We can also deduce that the semigroup verifies a logarithmic Sobolev inequality and gain an elementary rough estimate of the best constant.

Kalyan B. SINHA (Bangalore): Dilations of covariant quantum dynamical semigroups

 

Abstract. A theory of stochastic dilation of the Hudson Parthasarathy type of a covariant quantum dynamical semigroup on a C* or von Neumann algebra is constructed. The additional assumption of symmetry of the semigroup with respect to a semifinte trace allows the use of Hilbert space methods, while covariance with respect to the action of a Lie group on the algebra gives a better control on the domain of the (unbounded) generator.

Geoffrey SEWELL (London): Modelli quantistici stocastici della meccanica statistica del nonequilibrio.

 

Costruirò un insieme di modelli stocastici quantistici che serve per lo studio della meccanica statistica del nonequilibrio. La costruzione porta ai due risultati seguenti:
(a) generalizza all'ambito quantistico il programma classico di Jona-Lasinio et al;
(b) fornisce degli esempi concreti di modelli che verificano le ipotesi del mio trattamento macrostatistico generale della termodinamica statistica del nonequilibrio.
