In particular we develop a new model of traffic flow and begin the study of its properties. In the first part of the work we will present some important existing traffic flow models: the Lighthill-Whitham-Richards model, the Payne-Whitham model and the Aw-Rascle model, motivating the needs for a new model. Next we proceed in the development of the new model in its preliminary analytical study and we use numerical simulation to study sample cases for this new model comparing it with the Lighthill-Whitham-Richards model. A quick reference to the numerical methods used is present. Il lavoro di tesi riguarda i modelli continui di traffico automobilistico. In particolare sviluppiamo e iniziamo lo studio di un nuovo modello per il traffico. Nella prima parte del lavoro presentiamo i modelli continui più importanti presenti in letteratura: il modello Lighthill-Whitham-Richards, quello Payne-Whitham e quello Aw-Rascle, motivando la decisione di creare un nuovo modello. Dopodiché procediamo sviluppando il nuovo modello e facendone un primo studio analitico. Studiamo in oltre il comportamento del modello numericamente in alcuni casi test confrontandolo con il modello Lighthill-Whitham-Richards. È presente, anche, una breve trattazione dei metodi numerici usati.
