Full text non disponibile Abstract This Thesis addresses a new field, called Personalized Education, and leverages the techniques of Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining to tailor the learning process to individual students. We present the design of Perseus, a Personalized Education System that optimizes the learning process for both online and traditional learning environments, by formalizing it as a sequential decision making problem. Perseus recommends which content to deliver and which tests to give to each student to guide them optimally to their educational goals, by taking into account their past performance, their preferences and their needs.
