SHEMATH is an initiative of the Department of Mathematics of the Politecnico di Milano, born to represent and celebrate the role of women in mathematics and inspire future generations. This first video tells what it means to study Mathematical Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano, highlighting its interdisciplinary nature and the opportunities it offers in research, industry and innovation, in addition to the challenges that students face in this exciting path. The Department of Mathematics of the Politecnico di Milano has ranked 38th in the world for Mathematics in the prestigious QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025, the world ranking of the best universities by disciplinary field. At the national level, the Department confirms its first place, for the fourth consecutive time, while it is in 12th place at European level.
